The Mobility Plan Passed Unanimously

MoblityMonday.jpg

Thank you all so much for your support online and in person today at the hearing. The Mobility Plan was passed by committee unanimously, after a quite contentious discussion of some of the proposed amendments. Here's what happened:

  • Mobility Plan 2035 was passed by committee and goes to full council on Tuesday, August 11.
  • The two substantive amendments were: by CM Harris-Dawson to affirmatively prioritize equity during implementation and by CM Huizar to add Council as an "Implementing Agency" alongside the Mayor's Office and city departments.
  • All other amendments (namely by CM Koretz to remove Westwood Blvd and by CM Cedillo to make a number of changes to the networks, increase multilingual outreach, and prioritize disadvantaged communities) were tabled for a future joint PLUM/T-Com hearing after they can be studied further.

This is a huge win and we couldn't have done it without you. Let's keep the momentum going toward implementation! Please reach out with questions/comments or if you'd like to be more involved moving forward.

Thanks!

-Eric
